Abstract: This is a journal of field notes by Dr. Charles M. Breder Jr. written during his fieldwork in Florida, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica from 1972 to 1974. The writing details Breder’s observations of the schooling patterns of various fish, with a particular focus on Jenkinsia, Sardinella, and Mugil curema. Breder documents performing similar studies in Florida and Grand Cayman. His findings compare schooling patterns of fish in the two different areas. The notes on Breder’s time in Jamaica are primarily personal with a few observations about wildlife such as geckos and birds.
